6 Page Turners for Quiet Nights In

Hello fellow readers! Looking for a page turner on a quiet night in? Here are some page turners guaranteed to keep you hooked!

1. The Wonder by Emma Donoghue

If you are looking for a mind boggling page turner, then this book is for you! I finished the book in two days over the weekend, because I was so curious to find out what was going on with Anna- “The Wonder”.

Emma Donoghue’s book “The Wonder” is a historical fiction set in rural Ireland in the 1800’s. The story centers around an 11-year-old girl named Anna, who has supposedly been living without food for four months, surviving only on “manna from heaven.”

A committee of locals, including a nurse named Lib Wright who trained under Florence Nightingale, is tasked to watch over Anna to see whether or not her claims are true.

As Lib spends time with Anna, she becomes increasingly suspicious of the supposed miracle and begins to suspect that the girl is being intentionally starved. She sets out to uncover the truth, but faces many obstacles along the way, including hostility from Anna’s family.

2. One by One by Ruth Ware

Another fantastic page turner! While reading this book, I felt like I was one of the people the cabin, holding my breath as I tried to piece together the clues.

A group has gathered at a luxury cabin for a corporate retreat, but tensions rise when an avalanche cuts off their access to the outside world.

As the group becomes increasingly isolated, one of the co-workers is murdered, and the remaining group members begin to suspect each other.

Throughout the book, Ware builds tension as the group members become more paranoid and distrustful of each other. The setting of a remote ski resort adds to the sense of isolation and danger, as the characters must navigate scary mountain terrain in their efforts to survive.

3. Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

I kept turning the pages because I so desperately wanted to see how this ‘doomed’ love story would end.

This highly emotional page turner follows the romantic relationship between Tate Collins, a nursing student who moves in with her brother for the summer, and Miles Archer, a neighbor who has a troubled past.

As Tate and Miles begin to develop feelings for each other, Miles reveals that he is not interested in a relationship and only wants a physical connection. Tate agrees to a no-strings-attached arrangement hoping that Miles will eventually change his mind, but of course this arrangement doesn’t work out.

4. The Maid by Nita Prose

I kept turning the pages because I thought the main character, Molly, was really endearing and quirky, and I didn’t want her to get into trouble!

The story follows Molly, a 25-year-old maid who is on the autism spectrum. Molly works in the the Grand Regency Hotel, and she takes great pride in her work to return rooms into a state of perfection. She is used to being invisible until one day when she discovers a wealthy guest, Mr Black, dead in his bed.

People have taken advantage of Molly in the past because she is special, and this time things are not different. Molly becomes a main suspect in the death of Mr Black, but luckily there are still some good people looking out for her.

5. The Last Mrs Parish by Liv Constantine

This is the perfect page turner for a quiet night in , because the book is so fun and entertaining! You’ll want to keep reading to see what crazy plans the villain comes up with next!

Amber Patterson wants a glamorous life and she will stop at nothing to get it! She comes up with an evil plan to infiltrate the lives of Daphne Parrish and her husband Jackson.

The plan is easy: to befriend Daphne and to steal her wealthy husband, but will she succeed?

6. It ends with us by Colleen Hoover

This book is ideal for a quiet night in and it is not your typical ‘love story’. I’m curious what you’ll think:)

Lily meets a handsome neurosurgeon (Ryle Kincaid) and sparks fly! Ryle however makes it clear that he is not interested in a relationship, he only wants sex. Lily wonders what happened to Ryle in his life to make him so averse to having a relationship. As the story progresses, Ryle falls madly in love with Lily, to the point of becoming obsessed with her. Their romance seems to good to be true!

One day Lily unexpectedly runs into her first love from her youth and she begins to question her relationship with Ryle.

If you enjoyed these 6 page turners for quiet nights in, I have also compiled a list of some great psychological thrillers here. Hope you have a relaxing quiet night in!

Sincerely,
Elaine
